The Homewood Patriot Marching Band celebrates its twenty-fifth anniversary this year. It was founded in 1972 by Freddie Pollard. It was taken over by Pat Morrow in 1977, who continued to direct the band until the spring 1996. Ron Pence became director in the fall of 1996 and continues to lead the current band.

The band is known worldwide for its excellence. This excellence starts everyday in the bandroom and on the practice field. Three stars hang over the podium in the bandroom. These stars say Pride, Perfection, and Professionalism. These three things are what every band student tries to be. Pride, Pefection, and Professionalism and are what let us achieve what we have in our twenty-five years as one of the best bands in the country and the world.

Homewood Patriot Marching Band has competed and preformed in many events and competitions throughout the world. They have been featured in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York, New York, The St. Patrick's Day Parade in Limerick and Dublin, Ireland, the Lord Mayor's Parade in London, England, the Rose Bowl Parade in California, and the Fiesta Bowl Parade in Arizona. The Homewood Patriot Marching Band is one of continued excellence and perfection both on and off the competition field.
